The best Mines strategy is to set auto cash out at 1.5x–2x on every bet, keep each stake to 1–2% of your budget and stop at a win target. Mines hides gems and mines on a 5×5 grid: each gem you uncover raises the multiplier, and you cash out before you hit a mine. Every round is random, so mines tricks are about how you cash out, not about guessing. At 97% RTP a 2x target lands about 48.5% of rounds. Below: the setups that work at Hollywoodbets, Betway or a partner crypto casino, with R50 examples. Part of our crash game strategy guide.
How Mines works
Mines hides gems and mines on a 5×5 grid: each gem you uncover raises the multiplier, and you cash out before you hit a mine. You get a choice of 1 to 24 mines and a cash out after any gem. Your win is your stake times the multiplier when you cash out: R50 at 2x returns R100. Our guide to games like crash covers every feature in detail.
Mines odds with 3 mines
With 3 mines on 25 tiles, your first click is safe 22 times in 25. Every gem makes the next click a bit riskier. Here is the chance of clearing each number of gems, and the multiplier a 97% RTP game would pay for it (your casino’s paytable shows the exact figure):
| Gems | Chance to clear | Multiplier at 97% RTP |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 88.0% | about 1.10x |
| 2 | 77.0% | about 1.26x |
| 3 | 67.0% | about 1.45x |
| 4 | 57.8% | about 1.68x |
| 5 | 49.6% | about 1.96x |
So “3 gems with 3 mines” is the Mines twin of a 1.5x auto cash out.
Mines win chances by target
The win chance at any target is the RTP divided by the multiplier. We use a typical 97% RTP (check the game’s info panel for its exact figure).
| Auto cash out | Win chance (97% RTP) | R50 bet returns |
|---|---|---|
| 1.2x | 80.8% | R60 |
| 1.5x | 64.7% | R75 |
| 2x | 48.5% | R100 |
| 3x | 32.3% | R150 |
| 5x | 19.4% | R250 |

Mines strategy 1: steady 1.5x auto cash out
This is the backbone of every good mines session. Set auto cash out at 1.5x, bet R50 and let it ride. We ran 1.5x auto cash out through our simulator: 1,000 sessions of 100 rounds, a R2,500 bankroll and R50 bets. The median session finished on R2,375, the luckiest 10% on R2,825 or more and the coldest 10% on R1,925 or less. Not one session went bust. Compare every target in our auto cashout strategy guide.
Mines trick 2: the safe bet and the long shot
Decide your gem count before the first click and cash out on it every round. Pair a bigger bet on a low target with a small stake aimed at 10x: the safe bet pays most rounds, the long shot lands roughly one round in ten. Aviator dual bet strategy breaks the split down with numbers.
Mines tricks that don’t work
- Predictors and signals: results are fixed before the round starts, so no app or Telegram group can see them. Our Aviator predictor guide explains why.
- “Due” multipliers: a run of low rounds does not make a big one more likely.
- Chasing losses: doubling after every loss works until a long cold run arrives.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best Mines strategy?
Auto cash out at 1.5x–2x on every bet, stakes of 1–2% of your budget and a win target. At 2x you win about 48.5% of rounds.
How do you win at Mines?
Cash out before the round ends. A R50 bet cashed out at 2x returns R100; if the round ends first, the bet is lost.
Is there a Mines trick that always works?
No. Every round is random. Tricks help you manage your money and lock in wins, not predict rounds.
What auto cash out is best for Mines?
1.5x for steady sessions (about 64.7% win chance), 2x for a balance, 5x–10x for bigger, rarer wins.
Do Mines predictors work?
No. Results are fixed before each round starts. Predictor apps and signal groups are scams.
Where can I play Mines in South Africa?
At casinos that carry it in their crash lobby, including our partner crypto casinos. Deposit with Ozow instant EFT, 1Voucher or OTT Voucher.
