A counter that increases by one for each round or bet made with the same server and client seed pair, so each round produces a different result.

Why it matters

You need the right nonce to recompute a specific round in a verifier.

In practice

If you rotate seeds, the nonce usually resets to zero or one. When verifying an old round, make sure you’re using the seed pair and nonce from that exact round, or the hash won’t match.

Example

Rounds 1, 2 and 3 use nonces 1, 2 and 3.
