What is a betting unit?
A standard bet size, usually a fixed percentage of your bankroll, used to describe strategies and progressions. Martingale doubles units after losses; D'Alembert adds one unit.

Why it matters
Kenyan example: on a KSh 200 bet, a 1.50x cash out pays KSh 300. See the term in action in our Aviator Kenya guide.
Thinking in units keeps strategies comparable whatever your currency.
In practice
Units make strategies comparable across currencies: a “1-unit” bet is KSh 10 in one market and ₦400 in another. Most bankroll advice uses units of 1–2% of the session bankroll.
Example
With a KSh 2,000 bankroll, a 1% unit is KSh 20.
