The D’Alembert strategy for crash games is simple: raise your stake by one unit after a loss and lower it by one unit after a win (never below one unit). You keep the same auto cash out, usually 2x, and only change how much you stake. Its gentle steps mean no sudden doubling, and a run of wins brings you back to base quickly. Examples use a KSh 100 unit. Part of our crash game strategy guide.

How D’Alembert works

Rule: raise your stake by one unit after a loss and lower it by one unit after a win (never below one unit). A quick run with a 2x target:

KSh 100 loses → KSh 200 loses → KSh 300 wins → KSh 200 wins → KSh 100

Your win chance stays 48.5% at 2x every round; the system only changes your stake sizes. Compare it with the classic progressions in the D’Alembert and Fibonacci guide.

Simulator results

D’Alembert at a 2x auto cash out, KSh 5,000 budget (KSh 100 unit), 100 rounds, 1,000 sessions:

System Typical end Middle 80% Ran out
D’Alembert KSh 3,100 KSh 0–KSh 10,100 44.9%
Flat bets KSh 4,800 KSh 3,600–KSh 6,000 0%
Martingale KSh 4,600 KSh 0–KSh 10,200 46.5%

D’Alembert changes the shape of your sessions: wider swings both ways. Run your own version in the crash strategy simulator.

D’Alembert vs Martingale and Anti-Martingale

The Martingale strategy doubles after every loss, so one win recovers everything but a long cold run gets expensive fast. The Anti-Martingale strategy presses after wins instead. D’Alembert sits in between, with smaller steps. Still deciding? Our best betting system for crash games guide ranks them all.

Playing betting systems in Kenya

Kenyan pilots run this plan the same way on Betika, SportPesa, Odibets or a partner casino, because the maths is identical everywhere. Top up with M-Pesa (steps in our Aviator M-Pesa guide), keep stakes in round shillings such as KSh 50, KSh 100 or KSh 200 so tracking is easy, and treat rain free bets as a bonus on top of your budget, not part of it. More local tips in the Betika Aviator guide.

Best games for D’Alembert

Any crash game with auto cash out works. The Aviator game and the JetX game are favourites in Kenya; at our partner casinos you can also try Stake’s own crash original.

Pro tip: write your stake sequence down before the session. D’Alembert works best when you never improvise mid-run.

Frequently asked questions

What is the D'Alembert strategy?

A betting system for crash games: raise your stake by one unit after a loss and lower it by one unit after a win (never below one unit).

Does D'Alembert work in Aviator?

Yes, as a way to size bets. Your win chance at 2x stays about 48.5% every round; D'Alembert only changes stakes.

Is D'Alembert better than Martingale?

It is calmer: in our simulation 44.9% of D'Alembert sessions ran out of budget against 46.5% for Martingale.

What auto cash out should I use with D'Alembert?

2x is the classic choice because one win roughly covers one losing stake.

How much budget do I need for D'Alembert?

At least 50 units, for example KSh 5,000 with a KSh 100 unit.

Can any betting system beat a crash game?

No system changes the RTP. Systems change how your session feels and how big the swings are.
